Dr Timothy Patitsas and Dr Pete speak about Civilization and its "Signal Vs Noise" Dilemma.

Dr. Timothy G. Patitsas is a Greek Orthodox theologian and ethicist who has served as Interim Dean of Hellenic College and as Assistant Professor of Christian Ethics at the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Brookline, MA, since the fall of 2005 (and dean from  2020-2024). With degrees including a B.S.F.S. from Georgetown University, an M.Div. from Holy Cross, and a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from The Catholic University of America, his dissertation explored liturgy, complexity theory, and Jane Jacobs’ ideas on urban order in interpreting Orthodox liturgical cycles. He is best known for his 2019 book The Ethics of Beauty, which articulates a “beauty-first” approach in Orthodox spirituality, emphasizing recovery from trauma, ethical formation, and spiritual aesthetics in areas ranging from art and architecture to economics and urban planning. Patitsas also directed Holy Cross’ St. Helen’s Pilgrimage program for many years and is co‑founder of Beauty First Films, whose first documentary premiered in November 2023 exploring the life of St. Amphilochios of Patmos
